I haven't seen this picture in two decades. I immediately knew the depth of GOD's love for me, when Scott was born. How can we keep connected to our kids at each stage or every age? Today? At 23-years old, Scott no longer flops down next to me on the couch and says, 'Momma, can you scratch my back?'. Long gone are the lazy Saturday mornings watching repeats of MASH. Regardless of where life brings us, connecting with my kid is Chicken Soup for My Soul.
We can physically pull our kids close when they are little, we can even smother them with affection by yelling when they get out of the car 'I Love You'. We can keep our hearts, homes & doors open. We are the safe space where unconditional love lives for them, in abundance. Today, I Baked Scott some cookies.
Alwasy looking for suggestions to stay connected to my child. What do you do??

I loved walking in to his room, after school, to find him wearing his favorite cowboy hat. Country Music never sounded as good as it did at the top of his lungs. Bostons best snowstorms were for ping-pong on the marble island in the kitchen.
I loved living with him for the first 17-years of life. Whether we were driving to Derry, NH, running late for the Mount Alvernia's Christmas Bizarre or horse back riding in Nashville, TN it was a gift to be alone for a few minutes. Scott was not only my miracle at 30-years old, but he remains my FAVORITE person (in the galaxy). HOME is where ever we are together!
I don't know how it happened, but my son got the best his us both, his mom & dad. His instincts and humor are the direct result of hands-on grandparents & godparents
He is an intelligent, compassionate & good looking guy, so he has a full social calendar.
Scottie, Unconditional Love Lives Here,
Love you,
MOMMA
